Skewers of chicken marinated in a sweet soy and spice paste, grilled over charcoal, and served with a thick peanut sauce spiked with kecap manis and lime. A staple at Indonesian street stalls, weddings and family gatherings alike.

8 minThread the skewers
Thread four or five marinated chicken pieces onto each soaked skewer.
Grill the satay
Grill the skewers over hot charcoal or a hot griddle, turning every couple of minutes, for eight minutes total until charred at the edges and cooked through.
