Cook the onion
Cook the chopped onion in the oil over medium heat until soft.

Cover and simmer until the chicken and potatoes are fully tender and the curry has thickened.
Hollow the bread
Quarter the loaf and scoop out the center of each quarter to make a bread bowl, keeping the scooped bread for dipping.
Fill and serve
Season the curry with salt to taste, spoon it into the hollowed bread, and serve hot with the scooped bread on the side.
