Uruguay's iconic loaded sandwich: thin-sliced steak stacked with ham, cheese, bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise between crusty bread, usually served with a side of fries.
Cook the bacon
Fry the bacon slices in a skillet until crisp, then set aside.
5 minSear the steak
Season the sliced beef with salt and pepper and sear it in the same skillet over high heat for about two minutes per side.
4 minMelt the cheese onto the steak
Lay the mozzarella slices over the hot steak in the pan and let them melt slightly, off the heat.
1 minFry the eggs
In a separate pan, fry the eggs until the whites are set but the yolks stay soft.
3 minToast the bread
Lightly toast the split bread rolls in the pan with a little oil.
2 minBuild the sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bread, then layer the steak with melted cheese, ham, bacon, fried egg, lettuce and tomato.
Serve with fries
Close the sandwich, cut it in half, and serve immediately with a side of french fries.
