Brown the beef
Brown the beef chunks in the oil over medium-high heat.

Add the onion, garlic and tomato and cook until the onion softens.

Add the stew water, cover, and simmer until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
40 minBoil the water for sadza
In a separate pot, bring the water to a boil with a pinch of salt.
5 minStir in the maize meal
Sprinkle in the maize meal, stirring hard and continuously to avoid lumps.
Cook until stiff
Keep stirring and beating the mixture over low heat until it becomes a very stiff, smooth dough.
Shape and serve
Shape the sadza into rounds, season the beef stew with salt to taste, and serve them together.
